Each detail was inspired by the cool jewel tones and depth of the mysterious ocean.
The bride wears a goddess style dress with a train like ocean foam. It is as if Aphrodite emerged from the surface, fully formed with hair in beach like curls. A headpiece of seashells and jewels brings together the land and sea.
Stunning bold makeup highlights the glow of this beauty. Darker jewel toned eyes, with the soft colouring on her face, and a light touch of pearlescent on her cheeks makes her seem a little mysterious but incredibly stunning and breathtaking. Poseidon would be proud.
The Gothic inspired shoulder jewelry was custom designed to balance the bride’s remarkable ink on one arm, with the negative space on the other. It flows around her neck and down her shoulder just as the waves of the sea caress the shoreline. For a second look, the bride wore a sparkling statement necklace in cool blue tones to catch the light of the full moon as she danced the night away.
The luminescent place settings almost glow in the dark. This saturation is in contrast to the traditional wedding table elements. A bolder feel gives the space life and texture. Look closely at the table linens, their design chosen specifically to mimic the shapes of the coral that decorates the sea floor. The gold accent pieces and flatware add richness to the table; perhaps lost items strewn across the sea bed. Could they be from a merchant ship lost at sea?
The movement continues; custom made invitations and stationary with rich dark colours that pop!
The perfect venue; somewhere reminiscent of the days of ships with big billowing sails and ports with castles of rough stone and heavy wood. This converted old building, erected in 1871, known as Church of Berkeley located in Toronto, Ontario brought the perfect feel. No longer a Church, but now as an event venue with modern white, aged wooden beams and old uncovered brick, almost like where sea meets sand.
The flowers and arrangements capture the eye and feature the beauty of the ocean. A variety of lush, rich greens, purple thistles, soft succulents and exploding white anemones mimic the variety of texture of the deep unknown. Seriously, who knew a little reminiscent of kelp could be this gorgeous. (Well, we did!)
Tables set with bottles you could send a message in, SOS, but why would you ever want to leave this otherworldly, under-the-sea wedding? It’s mystic.
The vibe of this stylish wedding; swimming between fantasy and reality; the unreal and the, wow, so beautiful.
